“Now, let’s consider some common-sense analysis alongside your own observations and statistics:

  • How often do you notice blackened curbs?
  • How many vehicles on the road have visible damage around or underneath them?
  • How frequently do you see evidence of dead animal life on or near the road?
  • How many close calls do you experience on a daily basis?
  • Are most collisions reported?
  • Is it reasonable to estimate that 20 to 50 times more collisions go unreported?”

“Under the Highway Traffic Act, every collision resulting in combined damages of $2,000 or more must be reported. Essentially, that’s equivalent to a 2-inch scratch or gash visible from 10 meters away.”
